Emma Coburn is a Partner at Wallace & Wallace Lawyers with more than 24 years experience advising business, landowners, resource companies and private clients across Queensland.
Emma works closely with clients to understand their business, industry and commercial objectives, delivering practical solutions that support growth, manage risk and facilitate successful outcomes.
Her practice spans all aspects of commercial and property law, with particular expertise in:

Emma has extensive experience acting for multinational resource companies, mining contractors, METS businesses and family-owned enterprises. Having previously worked as in-house counsel in both private enterprise and local government, she understands the commercial realities faced by businesses and provides advice that is practical, timely and aligned with operational objectives.
Beyond legal practice, Emma is an experienced company director and governance professional. She was recently appointed by the Queensland Government as a member of the CQUniversity Council, contributing to the strategic governance of one of Australia’s largest regional universities. Emma also serves as a Director of the Mackay Cutters and is a Director and Company Secretary of the Resource Industry Network, where she contributes to strengthening regional industry, supporting local businesses and advocating for Queensland’s resource sector. Emma is a passionate advocate for Mackay and regional Queensland. Through her legal practice, governance roles and community involvement, she is committed to promoting the region as a place to invest, do business and build careers.
Away from the office, Emma enjoys spending time with her family which normally involves being somewhere associated with rugby league.
